Creating Touchpoints & Sending Messages

Overview

Touchpoints are how your church takes action on engagement.

When a congregant is marked as Potential, At Risk, or Disengaged, it’s important to follow up. Nurture allows you to create and track these interactions directly so nothing gets missed.

When to Create a Touchpoint

You should create a touchpoint when:

  • Someone is New and needs initial follow-up
  • Someone is Potential and ready to take a next step
  • Someone is At Risk and needs follow-up
  • Someone is Disengaged and needs re-engagement

Before creating a touchpoint:
👉 Make sure the item is claimed or assigned to a user

How to Create a Touchpoint

You can initiate touchpoints from:

  • The Dashboard (My Priorities)
  • A Congregant Profile

Messaging Touchpoints (Text, Email, Call)

When creating a messaging touchpoint, you’ll have three options:

  • Send a message now
  • Log a message you have already sent
  • Log a message you have received

Then:

  1. Select the relevant engagement category
  2. Enter your subject and message
  3. Choose how you want to send

Sending Options

📱 Send from Messaging App (Personal Number)

  • Opens your device’s default messaging app (like iMessage)
  • Sends from your personal phone number
  • Messages are NOT automatically logged

👉 Use “Log a message you have received”

Best for:

Using Phone Integrations

To use integrated messaging:

  • Make sure a phone number from your provider (like Clearstream) is assigned to your user profile
  • If no number is assigned, the “Send Now” option will not be available
